Thingyverse is owned by Ultimaker, Printables by Prusa and makerworld belongs to bamboo. I don't really want to donate my models to a for profit company, so are there any similar community run alternatives where I can upload to? Cheers

Could be promising as long as the print is water tight.

I have an giga and it’s a bit finicky, I am hoping to troubleshoot. A Bambu it is not. I am a bit disappointed, because for bigger prints the printer is much less reliable so far than hoped. I had desired to be doing much more furniture design prototyping and projects than troubleshooting.

My primary issues are bed adhesion (even after good bed leveling), and layer adhesion. The first, leads to a quick failed print and sometimes a more catastrophic clog of the nozzle. The second, yields a bad quality print that has warping.

Right now I can sort of print PLA with a lot of brims (no brims, no joy) but my desired state is to print PETG, but the issues are proving too severe to get any success there.

I’ve done temperature towers, and am running hotter with a 0.6mm nozzle. I have textured pei print beds.

Anyone have any suggestions?

A great quantitative examination of the effects of infill on part stiffness.

I really don't know whats happening. Especially with the Over and Underextruding... Heck the Bottom Left pic shows both happening basically right next to eachother... whats going on?

(The Printed Model in the pic is just the Entire First layer and buildplate printed in. Letting it Run a Third time now to see if the Patterns stay the same)

Heard a print complete in the middle of the night. I went to check the filament to start a new print and saw this. Photo freaking finish.

An actual person that makes money with 3d printing and a product between TikTok and Teleport/Slant 3D's print farm service. Plus a product I didn't know was a thing.

Original YT description:

Scaling a 3D printing business can be difficult when a viral moment strikes—unless you have the right tools. When Craig’s Little Ouchie exploded in popularity, he faced a massive challenge: fulfilling thousands of orders in just days. With TikTok Shop requiring fast shipping, he was at risk of losing everything… until 3D Print-On-Demand saved the day.

Using Teleport, Craig connected his store directly to a fleet of 3D printers, instantly tapping into mass production without any upfront investment. No need to buy more machines, hire extra help, or stress over logistics—his viral success was fulfilled seamlessly.

This is the power of 3D Print-On-Demand. No inventory, no warehousing, just on-demand production at scale. Watch how Craig’s business thrived instead of collapsed and learn how you can do the same!

I think it is an interesting story, PTSD/Autism sensory product, and service to be aware of if one ever needed it. However, this is easily construed as marketing. If you watched and feel that is the case, down vote this post or better yet, leave a comment. I want to know how the community feels about this grey area between usefulness/informative post and marketed products. As far as my present mod stance, user account history is how I determine whether a post is guerilla marketing. Low engagement or lots of low effort interactions are indicative of a potential shill account.(original thumbnail was clickbait so I grabbed a screenshot of the numbers for ref)

Reminiscent of the renowned pastry from Bordeaux (France) le Canelé Bordelais, the main design element of this lamp is known to french mechanics engineers as cannelure.

I designed this lamp with the goal to utilize the spiral-vase 3D printing mode to create a beautiful object, with a minimalist, retro, industrial style.

So, I bought a 3D-scanner. I needed one that works without a PC, and the only ones currently on the market seem to be the Revopoint Miraco Pro and the Shining3D Einstar Vega. There have been mixed reviews about the Miraco, and Revopoint apparently had a history of abandoning older models. Shining3D also makes professional-level scanners that cost as much as a car, so I banked on them putting some of that expertise into their consumer models and went with the Einstar.

Well, it works fantastic and so far does everything I bought it for...

BUT This thing is so closed off it makes Apple seem like a posterboy of the open-source movement. You cant even get any data off the device, unless you connect it to their proprietary "StarVision" PC-Software. It doesnt have a SD-Card and doesnt register as a mass storage device like most cameras do. When you connect with StarVision to the Vega, it asks you on device to login to your Shining3D account (and to connect to your WIFI beforehand). If you click "cancel", it simply disconnects from your PC.

So, without an account and WIFI, the Vega is just a brick. At least all processing is offline, and it doesnt force my data into their cloud (so far).

Obviously not something anyone should do, considering the many Microplastic Filled Reasons... but curiosity wise, would it Theoretically be possible?

PETG has always been more fraught than PLA for me but as of late it just looks like a mess.

I'm just trying to do calibration at this point and I'm getting this mess on the pressure advance test in Orca Slicer.

I get so much stringing, boogers, and just terrible prints. It didn't used to be this bad. Any tips?

I'm using a Snapmaker Artisan.

I have a cheap bedslinger at the moment, it prints well enough and with decent speed, but it's a little finicky whenever I need to start a new print and I sometimes have to stop and restart 2-3 times in the beginning to get the first layer good. I'm also having some issues with ASA warping (especially on overhangs) it's enclosed and heated to ~45°C.

I was thinking of building a voron, but I don't really have the time to have a printer project, so I wanted something that's close to what Bambu labs deliver, but ideally with the accessibility of klipper+mainsail.

I thought of getting the Prusa core one, but seeing reviews of it has really put me off it.

The printing speed is slow AF...a 37min benchy on a coreXY in 2025, WTF!? My bedslinger does it in less than 30min. The ecosystem Prusa delivers seems half baked at best, with no LAN access to the full printer interface? I'm used to klipper+mainsail which is amazing and offers full local control of every aspect of the printer settings/config, print jobs/queue printing progress and actual live video feed (Prusa is 0.1fps!?). At a 1350€ price tag, plus another 100€ for camera and accelerometer, it just seems like I'm not getting much for my money.

Is there anything out there either already running klipper, or can be flashed with it, that's close to Bambu labs?

These are often found on vacuum cleaner cables and such.

I'd like one to clip onto a two wire (two pronged, no ground) flat cable like this one:

Anything like that exist yet?

The article is beyond wordy and hard to decipher but here my TL:DR. And please correct me if I miss understood something.

Currently Fusion 360 projects are stored in the cloud with "single storage". The default save location in Fusion 360.

Autodesk is moving to "Fusion Hub" since they boast it's better at collaboration and file management.

If you receive the email notifying you of Fusion Hub. You have approximately 30 days" to upgrade to Fusion Hub. Auto desk will allow you to "skip the process once", but will force you to upgrade after 24 hours.

Once you start the process of upgrading the "Single Storage" will be remove immediately or available for 30 days for collaborative files. So if you are collaborating with others, ensure to tell them or they will loose access to the project.

Shared links to existing projects will be broken after the upgrade.

My favorite FAQ:

What if I don’t want to upgrade my data to Fusion Hub?

Since we are supporting only one location to store data, you will be required to upgrade to Fusion Hub.

I have pieces from an old chess game that I played a lot during my adolescence and so I have a special affection for it.

This game is missing some pieces that unfortunately have been lost over the years. I don't have 3D modeling skills and I would like to know if there is any way or service for me to recreate these lost parts to be printed on a 3D printer.

All help is welcome and thank you all!
