Calling Esperanto everyone's favorite is a bit far fetched
Everyone likes the idea of Esperanto but nobody can be fucked with learning a language nobody else presently uses.
Especially since we English have somehow managed to blunder and bludgeon our language so widely across the world that it's just accepted as a default.
I was just going to say I love the idea of learning Esperanto but why and where would I ever learn it.
I learned a bit, but in the end i found interlingua much more interesting. If you learn interlingua you can speak to native speakers of all the Latin derived languages at a basic level at least.
Sounds much more useful than a language that no one speaks
