.ml is run by the lemmy developers. They chose .ml for marxist-leninist. They also run lemmygrad.ml which is pro russia pro china and pro authoritarian. The admin team and mods have leaked over into lemmy.ml, so what comments get banned or removed tend to be those critical of russia and china. Just take a look at the modlog and yptb

That’s a good call. You’ll get a few .ml users here defending the place, but they really are pretty heavily authoritarian shills at the end of the day

For what it's worth, Marxists aren't actually "pro-Russia," more anti-NATO and anti-US Imperialism. Marxists critically support Russia's stance against these, while disapproving of its severe LGBTQ repression, Capitalism, etc.

Marxists are generally pro-PRC, that part is true, and it isn't the same kind of support as Russia as Marxists do generally support the PRC's economic model.

Nothing is without critique, of course, but equating the support for Russia and China is deliberately misleading.
