Im sure those weren't the only copies, and according to the article they have tracking on that laptop. It's wonder it hasn't been found yet.

Tracking is questionable, depends on what they're using.

We used to use dells tracking, don't remember the name, but it was BIOS level, could be locked remotely with custom lock screen, remote wipe, etc. but if it never comes back online, it's useless.

Should be encrypted at minimum, so even stolen you're not getting shit off it. I don't think bitlocker is crackable at all.
