It sounds like there are more doctors moving from the US to Canada, but not a huge number. The numbers are up from last year, but not by a lot.

It would be interesting to know if Canadian healthcare workers are still moving to the US in a big way, but the article doesn't explore that.

It's because it's so difficult to do. I have a couple of friends who are nurses and doctors who are trying to move to Newfoundland and they can't because the requirements in order to move to this province are almost impossible to get before moving here in the first place. It's not too dissimilar in other provinces. Some are more difficult, some are easier. Doesn't really seem to matter what your profession is. You're still going to have a very difficult time getting here. Now, if you have money...

Wealth is a consideration for most immigration. It's not so much "golden" but that it can improve your application. Canada also considers your age and you're rated lower for being over 35.
