Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Well?

What the fuck is she waiting for?

Thousands gathered Monday at locations across San Francisco to protest federal immigration enforcement, a day after police arrested 148 adults and six minors during a riot at a downtown Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office.

That was months ago...

Seems like she's hesitating, or just not planning on doing shit.

I'm fucking exhausted of people telling us they drew a line in the sand, when the fascists are already 100 yards past the line and gaining speed.

Stop fucking campaigning and start working.

If you elect me class president, there will be NO SCHOOL

Which is even more ridiculous when the candidate saying it is the incumbent, and you're listening to it in school.

I'm not doing it now, but I would totally do it if not for _____

It's manipulating a quirk in psychology where talking about fixing something can result in more dopamine than you'd get for actually fixing it.

Even for people who actually want to fix it, sitting around and talking about fixing is more pleasurable than doing anything to fix it.

Nothing wrong with it, it's human variation and valuable to plan ahead before acting as a society. But the fucking house is on fire and we're sitting at the kitchen table. We don't need the perfect plan, we need damn near any action to stop the fire or bare minimum go talk about it on the yard and not in an active house fire.

We need people like this DA to just start levying charges. Her saying an arrest has to happen before charges is easily disproven by the mere existence of the FBI's most wanted list.

How can someone who hasn't been apprehended be charged with a crime if apprehension has to happen before charges?

She just doesn't want to do the legwork of identifying and proscuting, which is literally her fucking job. She wants cops to hand her an airtight case with video evidence and the suspect already in handcuffs, then she might be willing to press charges.

So well put. Like have we not learned how Trump's main strategy is just to do what he wants and see what the courts say? You win either way. He hasn't totally got his way with the National Guard in Chicago and Portland, but he still established federal control of the guard and pushed his power forward. Instead of hemming and hawing, levy the charges and tie up operations in the court system. Even if you lose, you delay the process.

Trump's strategy is to do what he wants and then ignore what the courts say, or at least tie them up in appeals in perpetuity while continuing to do what he wants.
