I've saved my preferred sorting settings on my profile, but they don't seem to stick. Anyone knows when it might be resolved? Or am I missing something?

I have saved mine in my profile and they are working correctly.

When you load the profile after the save, have they reverted there? Or is it that when you view your home page the ordering is incorrect?

The settings are correct on my profile settings (All / Hot), but when looking at the home page it defaults to local / hot. I can change it manually on my home page, but when I create a new tab or the next time I open the site, it's back to local / hot again.

I want to say it is an issue with your instance, but we actually run the same UI and BE version.

Maybe something to do with the server issue lemmy.ml is experiencing.

Same thing if you log out and back in?

seems to be the same for other instances. Same even if I log out and back in.

Oh yes, you are right! Specifically All doesn't work.

I have found a bug report listed for it, and it should be fixed in the next release - 0.18.
