Why does it literally cost over $100 to change two lines on a piece of paper? Literally, why put such a ridiculously inflated price on a government service?

because any and all barriers are effect means at preventing people from taking or doing something while still remaining legally valid.

Why do I need to pay to renew the registration of my car?

Why do I need to pay to register my in pets with the government?

Why do I need to pay for a police records check?

Why does my doctor charge for a doctor's note?

Nothing is free..either pay and change your information, or don't? I don't see what's hard about this. Government entities have rules and fees associated to items for admin costs etc...

If you want it free, lobby to get the taxes increased so taxes can cover it so it's 'free'..which in turn you'd still pay for.

I don't understand why this is even an issue for people...
