The update that broke half of all enterprise servers. One of the official remediation steps is to "Reboot as many as 15 times"

Well that (the official statement from CrowdStrike - thanks for the other links!) was kind of a big bag of nothing.

New insight: the logic error was maybe already present and this channel update was unlucky to trigger it?

That would explain the dissonance of it being part of a nightly release...
