I left moderating some significant subs back when with the 3rd party app protests, but did return to Reddit after that to start my own.
But now, since early December I'm done-done.
My account has been deleted (as with Discord), and I'm all in on the fediverse. Seeing the proposed changes (the concept of a paid sub that Spez is so adament about?), I just had enough. And the more news of Reddit I see, the happier I am I did.
Most of my daily time now is spent on Mastodon, but I am here every few days trying to share a post or two.
Remember that interview with Don Lemon where Musk got heated over censorship?
Me too.
i feel like musk is going to demand reddit get rid of old reddit next because it's too nice a layout
I'm amazed any of you get told why you were banned
The day I saw Trump win I knew Reddit was going on the chopping block but even then, it’s been going downhill since 2016 with bots, bot mods, and language policing. Merely saying ‘fucking Luigi’ is a ban worthy offense and it’s absolutely asinine.
Musk, the great champion of freedom of speech!
It feels like a warped in to another dimension. Did everyone start using only 5 years ago?
I'm not and never was banned from there, however I left on my own accord after this happened, as if all their other enshittification didn't reinforce that decision.
Fucking crybaby
This (among other reasons) is why I left Reddit, deleted my account and move to Lemmy.world.
It looks like this is the ex-redditor handshake thread. Did anyone start here without coming from Reddit? I heard about Lemme during the IPO fallout but didn’t pursue it until the mass shadow ban rollout.
I’m also still jumping back and forth, but that’s only because the big content creators for hobby stuff are still on Reddit. Once they migrate, I’ll likely delete my account.
Because Reddit mods are known for not being massive corruptable stooges?
The same mods who arbitrarily ban users without showing what rule they claim was broken?
Yeah, I'd deleted my Reddit posts and then my account in November. I was already irked at what they did to their API, and then the Orange Dingbat got elected and I decided it was enough.
Later on, I went back, but only to lurk, but since many of the specialised subs require that you join in able to read posts makes it pretty unusable at this point.
I miss the old Reddit; I was there for over a decade. But here we are, building a new place for ourselves.
wHY Do pEoPlE HaTe Me!?
So the Twitter boss gets to order around the Reddit boss? Typical Stevie... No spine
