I saw three pretty large protests today around where I lived. Guess who showed up and gave the biggest display of support? Boomers.

As a millennial, I apologize for talking so much shit. Yall have done this before. You stood up in the 60s and 70s and here you are again, when we need it. Mad respect and thank you.

Yeah my dad went. He finally retired at 65, and the pension he worked for was killed in the 90s. Then his 401k, RothIRA, and now social security are vanishing.

He voted for Dems every time, but we live in a conservative state. He did everything right, and still got screwed.

And you know what? He's still most concerned for what happen to his kids and grandkids. He's done his best, but rich people made that not good enough.

He tries. Everyone's only human, but I can certainly appreciate the sentiment on wanting your kids to be ok. I feel the same about mine. And I worry that he's going to be ok as he gets older. There's a lot of infrastructure needed to care for the people that built the roads before you, so we can continue to build roads leading to the future. If he loses his safety net, I won't expect one. And then where's the incentive to better society?

So awesome to see people older than 90 and younger than 9. All protesting peacefully. Supporting each other. Beautiful!

I even saw a Silent Generation fellow at the one I went too! This 92 year old vet walking around with a sign lol. Not sure how to put it into words, but it was somehow comforting seeing both that guy and a bunch of kids playing just off to the side at the same protest.
