Maybe in the USA. In Québec (Canada), I believe that the general public is just about ready to accept one big bathroom for everyone. Stop gender segregation. Also, build the bathroom better. Make the stalls be tiny rooms instead, with a real door.

Montrealer here. Off the top of my head I know at least 5 women who would definitely NOT be okay with bathrooms for everyone. And I don't blame them. some men are creeps or dangerous and those kinds of men would LOVE to be able to hang out in the same bathrooms women use.
I love unisex toilets because I prefer cubicles and men only ones always end up having 20 urinals to 2 stalls so there's always a huge queue for the stall and it always ends up being in the worst state you can imagine
That is kinda crazy and a waste of life. There are alot of sadists in the world today.
No one cares more about if you have a penis or not, and wants to see it, than a totally straight, god fearing, Christian republican.
Conclusion: transphobes have trans envy
I still use the men's room because I am early in transition and my tits aren't big enough yet. I'm basically waiting for the first man to see me and tell me I'm in the wrong place, then I will know I can probably use the ladies'
You go girl!
To whichever restroom is least likely to end in a confrontation with some lunatic republican trying to 'protect' their perceived property.
Good luck on your journey, fellow human. 🏳️⚧️
I'm legit excited for you. That's gonna be such a great moment!
I swear, transphobes will claim all trans people care about are mutilating genitals while the phobes run around screaming at people demanding to know what's in their pants, regardless of whether they're a minor or not.
The restroom narrative is fucking insane.
I was sexually assaulted as a teenage girl, by another teenage girl in a restroom in high school.
Sexual predators are going to be predators. They don’t care about the rules.
Why would a rapist pretend to be a trans woman in a culture that treats rapists better than trans women?
For the sake of argument, let's say there is a hypothetical trans person who wants to assault someone in a bathroom. The whole argument assumes that people who don't respect "you can't assault people" laws will respect "you can't enter that room" laws. They're already planning a much more serious crime! They'll just ignore both laws! So dumb.
Those American bathroom stall gaps are wild.
I've been formulating an essay for a long time now about how American bathroom design - At least men's rooms, as I'm a man - Is proto-fascist homoerotic cultural enforcement, how it relates to the butt-slapping genital pranks of cis sports locker rooms or the blackmail-generating hazing of fraternal societies, and the extremely suspect fact that in our individualized and privatized society stripped bare of spaces for intimate social interaction, the one place that we are in fact forced to interact on an intimate and revealing level is also the one spot that is supposed to be the most private and individual. I also want to explore how it possibly relates to circumcision, in that both things seem to be the society asserting the ownership of one's gender in a coercive fashion, as if to lock the individual into their role in the society and remind them of that fact every time they'd seek to be alone with themselves.
American bathrooms are an insane psychological knot.
I think American stalls are designed that way specifically to make them less private in the hopes it will keep people from boning or doing drugs in them. Just another facet of American life made worse with puritanical/punitive culture.
Oh it's not just that, though that is perhaps part of it and is often the excuse. I think it goes deeper and way more psycho-sexual than that.
I'm from Europe and I always assumed that America does that, because it's the cheapest option by far.
You'd think after a lifetime of not actually working in that regard we'd just use a normal fucking door. 🤷🏻♂️
Also, FunFact: if you enter a bathroom in the US and the lighting is really blue: that literally is to stop drug use. Veins are blue, and if the lighting is blue you can't see them well enough to shoot up.
The blue light also doesn't work. Junkies figured out how to turn on the cell phone flash light.
We're lucky they even have doors, half the schools I went to in conservative towns ripped them off to 'keep kids from smoking' in the bathrooms.
I think they just have a fetish for watching people shit.
I'd literally rather my kid start smoking then have some adult watch them take a shit.
Hell, kid might start smoking to deal with poop anxiety it creates. Nicotine literally helps with constipation. Lol
It's solid advice to listen to what they say, because they are actually confessing what they want to do.
"If we defind the police people will go around killing everyone they want"
... Uh ... How many people do you WANT to kill? Because my number is 0...
And of course this is another clear example.
"They are trying to creep on young girls"
Uh.... Why do you're state make it legal to touch children's genitals if you're proving their gender and force people to undress for you to use the bathroom????
A more personal one:
"They are forcing their lifestyle on us!!!"
Uh... Is it okay with you guys if I'm asexual?
"No! That asexual means your gay and gay people are child molesters. So stop being asexual"
Do transphobes know of the existence of manly, burly trans men? One of those muscular, bearded dudes walks into a woman’s room because it’s their “birth assigned” bathroom and they would lose their shit
For clarity, I am going to use man/woman in reference to gender and male/female in reference to sex.
Always said this is exactly the way to protest those laws. Get the burliest, most masculine trans men you can find and engage in malicious compliance.
The conservatives and the TERFs are totally aligned on this one - and their thinking boils down to a few points:
- You cannot change your sex.
- Male persons are evil, dangerous predators.
- Predators will do whatever they need to to get better access to prey.
- Sex-segregated spaces are segregated by sex, not gender and exist in order to protect female persons from predators by limiting access to them by male persons while in a vulnerable position.
...and that's really it. You might notice that trans men are totally irrelevant to all of that, since they only really care about women's spaces. To them a trans man using the men's room is only putting themself at risk and doing so by their own choice, while a trans woman is endangering the cis women in the space against their will by existing.
I mean dude, love the energy but this isn't a protest to those laws... that's just going out for enough time in public to need to use a public restroom as a trans man.
Trans men getting arrested by police for 'causing a disturbance' by being forced to use the women's bathroom isn't a bug, it's a transphobic feature. They want to make being trans as uncomfortable as possible because they think that if they can ratchet up the discomfort level less people will attempt to transition. Trans men who pass on average are massively uncomfortable using the ladies room because it's a great way to get arrested by cops, hastled by security, banned from private property, assaulted by women, yelled at and abused because everyone assumes you are a cis male creep, they want you to suffer for being trans or they just don't care.
Like trans women are generally the forefront of the conversation but when it comes to trans men this isn't "malicious compliance." it's either compliance compliance or stealthily breaking the law and hoping nobody notices. The trans deterrent system is operating as intended.
No, because their fear is based mostly in sexism.
Every accusation is a confession.
