Good thing I delete that crap 10+ years ago. Enjoy the shitty data and memes!

[–] ghosthacked@lemmy.wtf 14 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

This is kind of stupid. I don't even remember social media tags I've used. Who would want to go through this shit to get into redneckville?

[–] JacksonLamb@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Exactly, they are talking about dozens of names. Who on earth would remember that, let alone want to share it.

[–] menemen@lemmy.ml 15 points 5 hours ago

Lol, now even the dumbest asshole should understand that they should cancle their US vacation...

[–] D_C@lemm.ee 9 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago) (1 children)

I legitimately do not, and have never had, any of the usual social media. This lemm.ee account is the only one I have, and that's closing down soon.

However I would also never visit the us. So it's all a win/win for me.

"Well that can't be right. Highly suspicious. What do you have to hide?"

[–] D_C@lemm.ee 5 points 3 hours ago

"What do you have to hide?"

Grizzly murders. Loads of them!!

...
...

J/k. It's my privacy. All those horrific murders were really easy to get away with, keeping my privacy private however...

[–] control@startrek.website 15 points 6 hours ago

Well, that’s one more reason to never come to the USA again

[–] Allemaniac@lemmy.world 8 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

welcome to Autocracy ladies and gentlemen, sit back, grab some popcorn and pay attention to your neighbours, some might start dissappearing soon

[–] Rawdogg@lemm.ee 3 points 3 hours ago

dont threaten americans with what they want and voted for.

[–] Allemaniac@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

football selling out to Qatar who use slave labour and stone gay people to death, now US who hate foreigners and will detain you at random, and being in 2034 in Saudi Arabia, who also hate human rights is just the icing on the cake. I wanted to fly to the US for the world cup, but fuck that, fuck Trump and his cronies across the globe

[–] daggermoon@lemmy.world 14 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

What if you don't have social media accounts?

[–] DrunkAnRoot@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 hours ago

"quite suspicous what do you have to hide?" and then they smack you with batons arrest you and put you in jail with gang members muders and every evil and vile person

[–] ReginaPhalange@lemmy.world 17 points 8 hours ago (1 children)
[–] creisel@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 hour ago

Right away, jail!

[–] BoycottPro@lemm.ee 16 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

This is stupid. This will not stop spies and terrorists, they will just create fake accounts. This will only hurt legitimate immigrants.

[–] FireIced@lemmy.super.ynh.fr 4 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

This is for non immigrant visas it says

[–] BoycottPro@lemm.ee 8 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

What I said can be applied to any type of visa. The policy is not going to fix anything, it's only going to invade peoples privacy and turn away legitimate visa applicants.

[–] FireIced@lemmy.super.ynh.fr 4 points 9 hours ago

USA being USA

Btw don’t forget to switch instance

[–] Grandwolf319@sh.itjust.works 32 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

Seriously, what’s the advantage of having social media? Just seems like a liability with every account.

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 21 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

If you don’t have social media you must be “hiding” something and will be denied entry.

Make a fake one that posts like... idk post random tech stuff that you could be reasonably interested in. Make nothing critical of authority. As a decoy profile.

Then you can rant about big brother on an anonymous Lemmy Account over TOR.

[–] Rawdogg@lemm.ee 3 points 3 hours ago

and then they check their palantir database and see your lying and throw you in a south american gulag

[–] WoodScientist@sh.itjust.works 4 points 9 hours ago

Finally a killer app for AI. Create social media profiles and use AI agents to populate them with bland uncontroversial drivel.

[–] FireIced@lemmy.super.ynh.fr 2 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

But a super recent account would be suspicious

You have to do this over a couple years

[–] Allemaniac@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

I can see a black market for decade old "clean" social media accounts to bypass the system lmao

[–] serenissi@lemmy.world 16 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago)

My US visa officer: what do you mean you did not have 'social' media accounts in 5 years? No, these weird sites don't count. Underground terrorist? Straight to gulag.

[–] Samsy@lemmy.ml 25 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Sure why not, since my name is Anthony O'Neill. You can find my short form username: Anon.

What could they find? I bet I'm save.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 11 points 16 hours ago

I'm betting on the opposite problem,

We show here you've been VERY active. Please have a seat in this chair until we come for you.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 9 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

You can find my short form username: Anon.

What could they find?

Yes, what possible community full of people named "Anon" could they find that would get you in any amount of trouble?

[–] refalo@programming.dev 1 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

4chan. they call each other anon all the time

[–] ter_maxima@jlai.lu 9 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

"I don't use social media"

[–] pulsewidth@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Lying on an official document? Straight to jail.

Didn't actually have any accounts? Believe it or not, straight to jail.

[–] ter_maxima@jlai.lu 1 points 2 hours ago

It doesn't matter anyway, there is no rule of law in the united states. You might as well lie, they will likely jail you no matter what you write on that document.

Just don't go there.

[–] FireIced@lemmy.super.ynh.fr 2 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

If you’re a student, you must have something to hide, as everyone uses social media

[–] ter_maxima@jlai.lu 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

For the longest time that answer would have been literally true for me, I only used SMS.

[–] FireIced@lemmy.super.ynh.fr 1 points 50 minutes ago

Even worse. Fully unencrypted messages

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 6 points 14 hours ago

But sir, the form only has space for four!

[–] Grumpyleb@lemmus.org 135 points 1 day ago (16 children)

America is such a fucking joke it's no longer funny. I wish we could isolate the rest of the world from your madness but unfortunately we can't.

"Have you ever attempted to overthrow a government by force or violence?"

Non-Citizen MAGAt: sweats profusely

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 8 points 14 hours ago

"Why? Is the CIA hiring?"
