Staying here. I run the OSR and Chiptune communities. Can't leave now.

Yes. I never used Reddit that much. About a post per week or so. But I feel much more "at home" on lemmy so actually I already use lemmy more than I ever used Reddit.
Lemmy needs a polling tool... I'm staying regardless 😏
With the dumpster fire that is Twitter, and now Reddit, more than ever there's a need for decentralization. At this point, it's not a matter of if, but when a company will turn on itself to make a profit. What made Reddit Reddit, are the communities. While Reddit actually hosts the service, that's pretty much the only contribution to its existence I've seen. I used the webpage when on a PC, but I refused to use the official app. I've decided to bite the bullet and delete my Reddit accounts, because that's the only real way to make a statement, not blacking out subreddits for a few days. They don't care about that. It's just a drop in the ocean. But deleting (user) accounts, that's sending out a clear message. Lemmy continuing to grow and attract content creators, moderators, and posters will make it more vibrant and usefull. So I'm personally here to stay.

Yes
That's the plan. I'm strongly invested in leaving Reddit for good.
I do have some concerns regarding the scalability of the Lemmy as a whole though. Seems like sync issues are a frequent problem.
Yes, absolutely. The community over here is 110% better than reddit ever was.
YES
Almost certainly. I just signed up to pay $5/mo through Patreon for .worlds. I'm happy to pay and not SEE ANY GD!#)$$U@) ADVERTISING!! I mean that alone... lol
Communities are filling up, that's what matters. Code works fine. The android Jerboa app (only one I could find; is there another?) won't run on my Pixel 6 Pro but I'm fine with the web interface.
I'm gently suggesting in the subreddits I inhabit that it's time to move, here. My usage there dropped a lot with the shenanigans there; I suspect it will never return to its former self. Fine by me. Everything is a TAZ; gotta stay flexible.
The culture matters, not the platform.
I'm uncertain.
I won't be returning to Reddit, but I'm not sure about staying here either currently.
A fair portion of the communities I followed on Reddit were rather niche, so it might be a bit before similar communities pop up here. I'm also not completely sold on the fediverse concept, and there's a strong focus on Reddit hate here rather than actual new content.
On the other hand, I think it has a lot of promise, and the 3rd party app I used for Reddit is also coming here, so I think it has a lot of potential. I just hope Lemmy comes into its own eventually.
I'm not minding it. The instance (or app itself) seems slow, but overall okay. I'm just hoping the content shifts away from talking about how bad Reddit is and more about providing its own content.
the Voyager PWA is a big part of why I'm staying. Good UX!
Yes
I already love it! I'm really dedicated to giving Lemmy a chance!
I'm a filthy casual, and I think I'll be staying. I might try out Kbin when they get a mobile app, because I'd like to be able to follow mastodon and the fediverse versions of reddit from the same app. But I love it here so far. There are a few subs I really miss (witches vs the patriarchy, some science subs, and a whole bunch of academic and religious subs), but I'm fairly confident that most of those will make their way here eventually. If not en mass, then a trickle of like minded folks.
Maybe, if the people stay but it's unlikely I'll go back to reddit
I know I will..
Hundred percent. Was a Digg "refugee" once before and I made the migration, more than likely will be a Reddit refugee making the migration again to Lemmy.
Too new to rate, but I have to say that I am optimistic. I was early on Digg, early on Reddit and in both cases, had great runs. Fingers crossed - but going to give it the college try.
Hell yeah. I was 90% sold until ljdawson confirmed sync for lemmy. I'm going where he's going. Now I'm 110% staying.
All I'm wondering about is who will foot the bill on server costs. How is this site planning to be build more sustainably than reddit?
I really like Lemmy as a platform, but I still keep going to Reddit a bit because that's where people are. Particularly local communities haven't been interested in moving.
I want to, but I think the content still needs some help
Definitely.
Absolutely. I've been hearing about the fediverse for several months now. This has just been an excellent reason to hop in.
Maybe. Probably will get downvotes but feeerarion needs to be very user friendly and it’s so far real confusing. I’m hopeful, but I also know servers and people’s time cost money.
Blender.org figured out how to build a business case for open source and it’s working very well. I hope the fediverse can figure it out too.
I like the comparisons to email, how I could run my own server, but even today I jsut rely on Google for personal and work. Why? It just works and it’s very easy to use. And cost is affordable for the work side.
What’s going on here is interesting though! ActivityPub is super cool so I want to stay here to learn and keep a pulse on it.
I certainly hope so. While I can't look into the future, I haven't been feeling the need to return to reddit at all, and I have hopes for Lemmy - if it continues to grow without devolving into some bot-infested, right-wing mess or something.
For now though, I'm definitely hopeful. The announcement of the Sync and Slide apps gives me a positive outlook here!
I will use it but not as my primary. I think Reddit still is where I want to be until the content here increases. I understand we have to create content here for that to happen though so I will continue to use in just to do my part.
Yes, federated social media is the path forward. We had it once with email and basic homepages. It's time once again.
I will if a few things happen...
A solid app on Android/iOS to rival Boost, RIF, and Apollo.
Growing communities.
Definitely staying!
I don't think lemmy is ready for primetime. There are many defaults on this that make it seem like a clunky early adopter build of an application.
I'm not planning on leaving... but i'm still struggling to get the same use case here as reddit provides.
Fuck reddit. Fuck corporations. Lemmy has been fun.
I wish I could give you more than one upvote
yes. reddit was a little bit of a bad habit for me, lemmy is a reddit-like fix where i’m more comfortable contributing rather than lurking.
Once Boost stops working I'd like to not go back to Reddit, I'm hoping this place takes off with the exodus.
If it doesn't then... Oh no
Back to Digg?
Absolutely. I will never use Reddit again out of principle.
Aye
I'll stay, I'm convinced this will help feddie communities, including also kbin or Mastodon as an example, to expand. I just see the problem of: where did my community go? do I need to register into 5 services? Something that many people are arguing and agreeing on and will soon have a decentralized nice federated community, no matter the name or the server you use (long-term for exodus from Reddit and others). I won't blame on this, is difficult to take these decisions in such a short time, days.
