A nice place to discuss rumors, happenings, innovations, and challenges in the technology sphere. We also welcome discussions on the intersections of technology and society. If it’s technological news or discussion of technology, it probably belongs here.

Remember the overriding ethos on Beehaw: Be(e) Nice. Each user you encounter here is a person, and should be treated with kindness (even if they’re wrong, or use a Linux distro you don’t like). Personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Because I only use web, on mobile and desktop. I can't live without adblock.

Reddit is Fun was my go to. Still browse mostly on old.reddit, but that will likely get killed soon. Hopefully a great alternative like lemmy is what people pick as the big draw for me is the communities that popped up for everything, from broad strokes like r/anime, to focused subs like r/onepunchman

Been using Relay for quite some time. I had paid a few bucks for the ad free version years ago.

Don't really use Reddit on PC, so the third party app shutdown is likely moving me off Reddit

RIF on mobile most of the time, old.reddit when on desktop the rest (usually when looking up something with a search engine)

You can opt out of the new UI without resorting to old.reddit

Seems like a lot of people here don't know you can set your default www.reddit to be Old Reddit in your user settings. You don't/won't need to actually type "old.reddit"
