I wouldn't have chosen dbzer0 because of the significantly higher proportion of psycho mods and the AI slop vigilantism

[–] Blaze@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

For context OP left lemmy.world for toxic moderation

Also, from the sidebar

Addendum: Yes we know that you think ml/hexbear/grad are tankies and or .world are a bunch of liberals but it gets old quickly. Try and come up with new material.

I was banned from yepowertrippingbastards by one of the aforementioned power-tripping bastards.

[–] Blaze@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 month ago (2 children)

You can try !modabuse@lemmy.sdf.org , but based on the context how you got banned the chances are probably low

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yes, that demonstrates my point.

On that topic, I was discussing with @goat@sh.itjust.works the other day about the potential need for another YPTB community, to potential counterbalance the dbzer0 one, but our conclusion was that nobody wants to do that.

Let's be honest, monitoring this kind of threads is always tedious, people tend to get agressive against each other very fast, it's just not a nice experience as a mod.

@otter@lemmy.ca closed !fediverselore@lemmy.ca for that reason.

It's a shame about fedilore. I like the idea of a community dedicated to documenting events in the fediverse, too bad the actual community trended towards petty thredi drama as opposed to the more fun stuff like the shutdown of queer.af.

[–] Blaze@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago

Most of the people on Threadiverse don't go to the rest of the Fediverse that often, so yeah the content tend to be quite Threadi centric

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Indeed. That's part of the reason I won't get into moderation.

[–] goat@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I can make a YPTB comm, though it'll be mixed in with a fedidrama community.

[–] Blaze@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago

I guess issues will come after people start posting there and arguing in the comments

[–] Tweak@feddit.uk 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Can you give a federated link to those? lemmy.zip isn't globally available.

Certain mods will stalk users for "anti-AI" sentiment and preemptively block them over a range of communities. This can include pretending that any downvotes on AI slop are "brigading."

[–] DarkSirrush@piefed.ca 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yeah, recently checked my Lemmy.ca accounts modlog and found out that i have been banned from 2 db0 AI communities for 3 months now. Which is fine, because I would have blocked them first if I saw posts from them.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 month ago

I wish I knew when I was blocked and was offered a quick "unsubscribe" . I surf by "all" as a lazy git and don't otherwise notice much.

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 10 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

Dont know about the former, but have seen the latter. Quite a few people on that instance that get mad when other users systematically downvote all AI generated content they see. I am one of those downvoters so yeah... That doesnt make it a bad instance necessarily tho.

[–] Blaze@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 month ago

That doesnt make it a bad instance necessarily tho.

It has a unique governance system https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/c/div0_governance , admins are responsive, the instance has a real identity, there's a reason it's the 5th most active instance

Maybe im still too fresh off of reddit, but the linked mod's definition of brigading and vote manipulation seem pretty tortured...

Brigading logically implies a brigade... like a concerted effort by many people, usually coming over from the same place. To mass manipulate the content of another place.

And on reddit, 'vote manipulation' referred to using bots/ multiple accounts to downvote others while upvoting oneself. See the whole unidan thing.

I was wondering what happened!
