I use liftoff now. Is sync an improvement? I find switching between instances to be a bit clunky and having accounts with different instances leads to lots of repeating posts.

I mean, having a good client for an app is the first step to get users lol
Anecdotally, it became much more active when Reddit switched the API a month ago. The existence of https://old.lemmy.world/ later also helped probably.
I definitely used Lemmy a lot more today than I normally do. Sync for Lemmy is just so much more polished than everything else I have tried using to access Lemmy previously.
Just wait and watch reddit... Now that 3rd party devs are unleashing stuff... This should take off. Hopefully joey app's lemmy rendition shows up as well! ๐ค๐ป
That's why I'm now here. I was waiting for Sync to be released. I bought the Ultra version to support the dev.
I created an account as soon as I got a notification from the Play Store about it being available to install.
The dev also sent out a push notification to anyone that has the old Sync still installed
I haven't been home browsing on my phone since it's been released. I'll hopefully be more active moving forward
Got an alert on my recently installed Sync for Lemmy app that lemmy.world was down earlier, so maybe that's why.
Since i was able to import my settings backup from sync for reddit, I'll be here more often
I definitely waited to set up my account for sync to come out. Im just most comfortable with sync, and familiarising myself with some other UI just to switch again when sync comes out seemed silly.
Sync brought me here since it was my preferred way of using Reddit. Haven't really touched Reddit at all since the app shut down.
I have a sync-ing feeling you're right.
I guess anything that will make Lemmy a viable alternative to Reddit is welcome.
