That's a little different than what I was thinking.
Most Tijuana bibles were obscene parodies of popular newspaper comic strips at the time, ... Others made use of characters based on popular movie and sports stars of the day ...
That's more along the lines of Rule 34, or the early Simpsons "porn" that got sent by fax machine.
I was thinking of wholly original "mainstream" comics that you could just go buy at a drugstore or newsstand.
Wonder woman was literally bondage every other page
Archie is gay. There a scene in Chasing Amy that explains this.
