Here's an article that explains it better then I can. But essentially its the date slaves were proclaimed free in Texas

I know what the date represents. But why not just also write “Juneteenth in the United States to Celebrate the End of Slavery Galveston Texas” as well? Flags are symbolic.

I get the date being there, but design wise it would look nicer if they dropped it
