I'll take it over that winner-takes-all nonsense the US has but don't think this is not susceptible to corruption and populism. In Holland the current PM is pushing through poorly designed law under threat of collapsing the government which would probably lead to months if not years of political paralysis.
If the population wants to elect a dangerous right-wing government having a perfect electoral system that represents 100% of the vote fairly won’t stop that.
The things is, it's usually not the majority of the population wanting that.
Here it's less than a third but they are claiming "vox populi" anyway because they are the biggest single party. The left, as always, is more split.
