I get it, but I've had my primary Gmail account for about 20 years. In early 2024 I decided to start de-googling my life (I just replaced my Home Mini with the home assistant voice preview) - but even that's been a challenge because I opted for the (now revealed to be) bootlicking Proton mail.

exactly. and while you do some sort of training before driving a car you somehow feel entitled to be on the internet without any lecture on how to use it. hm. maybe stop falling for the shiny stuff. dumbass. so disroot is so good google search results does not show their frontpage but some unuseable nextcloudlogin as top result. so you even get a nextcloudaccount there. and i haven heard then scumbagging around. nordVPN also has shiny ads...fell for that too? well do mullvad. and stop using those damn large corpos. for ever.
