There are much more effective methods of negatively effecting his lifespan.

Yeah, but some of them are legal and can be performed from the safety of your couch...

  • Safe and legal

  • Effective

Unfortunately we've reached the point where we do actually need to pick just one.

Well go ahead, I wish you luck.

Me? I'm sticking with safe and legal. I lack the skills and resources to have a sliver of a chance at carrying out the other path successfully, let alone walking away from it with my freedom or life intact.

It's weird how often people try to pin it on me personally when I point out that we're relying on a vigilante... it's like calling 911 to report that a building is on fire, and the operator asks why I'm not running into it with a bucket.

Don't get me wrong - I'd love to be the hero of the day here, but I'm under no delusion that that fantasy will amount to anything tangible. Apologies if my previous post gave you any false hope.

it is weird how often there are consequences to my own actions... 😆

so what exactly was your point? did you want to encourage others to do what you won't do yourself? or were you under the impression that people actually don't jave this very generic piece of knowledge and wanted it to share? guess what, most people lack the skill or resources to do that and get away free, or a will to martyr themselves for it, same as you.

and the people who do have the skills and resources and would be willing to think about it don't need your advice to do it.

it’s like calling 911 to report that a building is on fire, and the operator asks why I’m not running into it with a bucket.

no, it is like a voyeur watching a house on fire shouting "why isn't someone running in with a bucket?" and when someone asks "well, why aren't you?" they start producing some word salad hoping to drown their own words in it...

...what actions? And what consequences? Are you confusing this with some other comment chain or something?

so what exactly was your point? did you want to encourage others to do what you won’t do yourself?

Yes. I'd draw special attention to military personnel and federal workers who all swore an oath to defend the constitution from all threats foreign and domestic; and folks in the military in particular having the training and resources to carry out a mission like that.

I ask others to do things I can't do myself all the time - that's how specializations work. If I could save the US by setting up for a surgery, then fuck yeah, I'm on it! ...but somehow I don't think my skillset is going to be of much use here, so I'm relying someone else with the means to get the job done. Same as if I need my tooth drilled or car fixed or something - I can't do those either, but that's not going to stop me from asking someone who can when my tooth hurts or car stops working.

guess what, most people lack the skill or resources to do that and get away free, or a will to martyr themselves for it, same as you.

Then most people should stick with safe and legal, same as me.

Feel free to elaborate on whatever was going through your head when you typed that, cuz what the fuck?
