Considering what Russia was like before and after the USSR, and considering that the Nazis threw everything at destroying the USSR and then the US put all it's weight on strangling the USSR.... Communism is actually kind of incredible in a lot of ways. It turned Russia from a shithole into a global super power and then it did the same for China

Yeah, not ragging on communism. I'm actually a huge fan of Marx, including his tidbit about an armed proletariat. But the country was considered "red" at the time.

Also, good on you for defending the system! I only wish you disparaged the leader a little. Cause, conceptually, the USSR would've lasted a whole lot longer if it wasn't for that murderous prick.
