Personally, I think sellers can demand whatever they want for luxury goods. It's on buyers to decide if it's worth it or not.
It's still annoying for me people like me, who can't afford these though.
I don't think anyone is arguing against their right to sell it, they're being called out because people really shouldn't buy it. It's kind of a bad financial decision. If you still want to that's your decision but people shouldn't buy it without knowing they could get a better deal elsewhere. That's why these things get called out for being too expensive, not because they aren't or shouldn't be allowed to, but because people deserve to know it's a horrible deal.
I agree they can demand whatever they want, but it's still a ridiculous price.
No arguments there.
But saying that, I really want that box that you can play doom on lol
I like the Cacodemon more. Both the floating one and the one that you can play doom on. Let's pool our money and buy it together, you keep the Box, I'll keep the Cacodemon, we can sell the rest for $500 😀
I like that you think I have $333 to my name, makes me feel rich.
Well, at least something good came of it 😀
That would be the optimal case, however in reality, limited runs and other marketing tactics heavily manipulate people into buying overpriced stuff they don't need. I think it's unfair to put all the responsibility of deciding what acceptable prices are on the buyer, when companies spend billions in researching marketing tactics. That's why there needs to be more guard rails coming from governments, so that consumers can't be abused as much.
