betting all of it one industry, like CS isnt useful, when was an ongoing problem for the industry for like 10+years. alot of them went for cs, and then theres the influencer crowd. besides this industries other are suffering the same fate.
reality, is many employers dont want to train people freshout of school(college) so they always demand(catch-22) experience right off the bat. 0-4 years in relevant experience, lab or research. only a very small subset at my state school even were lucky to get into "volunteering" at a lab, or some relevant experience in thier field. additionally, job sites have made it harder as well, and many of them shut down thier own forum boards to prevent getting harassed by said companies: because the job forums are making them look bad.
kinda sad to see people in CC staying there 5,10,15+years with no directions.
