I'd honestly suggest you consider doing it any way. Like this post is saying there are lots of kids who are languishing and would take even a volatile position as it is experience. If you're open and honest with how insecure the position is, I believe you'll find people who will meet you where you are.

That's assuming you have the bandwidth and temperment to mentor.

Not even necessarily for the altruism of fostering the next generation, as it'd be mutually beneficial. You said you were feeling pressure from the amount of work you have. I was more trying to get you out of your own way, as it sounded like you were hung up on providing an old-school job package (salary and pension included), and that'd just be more stress.

The way times are you have to take care of yourself before you can effectively take care of someone else. You finding a way to provide even part-time employment to ease your own workload is just getting two birds with one stone.
