Hunh, that's interesting they both resolve to the address above. But is that because we are both in fedia.io? And are you therefore saying that it wouldn't resolve correctly if we, and or Disney Vacation were in different instances? I'm still trying to understand this so I can use it and teach it to others. Thanks!!
Long story short, the "!" version will take the person clicking the link to their home instance's version of that community, keeping them logged in and able to subscribe/interact. It's much nicer to deal with sharing communities that way.
It probably has to do with whichever app or site you're using to browse. I believe the accepted syntax is to use the ! prefix to denote a community, so I'd expect that to have wider support.
