Thanks. I haven’t had time to do much more than register and read a brief Usenet FAQ over on the fuck-spez site.
Just so I’m clear, DS is an indexer; not a provider, right? If that’s right, any suggestion on providers or how to find/choose one?
Yes, DS is an indexer. I recall looking at some wiki for a provider. I'm using Frugal news for provider.
I went with Eweka as a provider, don't remember why.
You'll also need a program to handle the downloading. I think there's a few but the popular one seems to be SABnzbd. I am not sure if you need that with the *arrs though, since I don't use those, but someone who does may be able to elucidate. And finally if you're interested in the forum-esque newsgroups (likely not) you can access those through Thunderbird.
DS has affiliate links for recommended providers after logging in. I think they are deals too.
