Yes. Stop remaking good movies; start remaking bad movies!
Amen. I feel the same about music covers. If you cover an artist's most iconic song, chances are you just won't live up to the original. Find the one deep cut with the most room for you to put your own spin.
Foo fighter's cover of Prince's "darling nicky" comes to mind. Totally different animals, both amazing.
