@stargazingpenguin Well, I think I just figured out why Paramount is rolling the dice on making a new Trek series a podcast.

It's an interesting idea! Big Finish has been doing Doctor Who audio dramas for quite a number of years, presumably at least somewhat successfully, so there's apparently a market for it. Khan was not on the top of my list of ideas to explore, (not even in my top 20) but I plan on trying it out once it's available.
@stargazingpenguin Given that Doctor Who and Star Trek are canon now in both franchises I think I know where they got it from.
These idiots in Hollywood don't do "new ideas". They recycle everything. They only want things that will sell, not things that might, which is a big mistake in my opinion as people are now moving away from the big movie houses to make films that matter. They are also not good at understanding what actually makes a popular IP popular.
