They really do.
The constant doom and gloom on this platform is kinda sad actually. Nothing good ever happens.
I can’t remember the last time Ive read actual good news at this point. Anything slightly less terrifying in the news feels like finding a foothold in solo tug-of-war against a crowd.
There are communities for good news. e.g. !goodnewseveryone@piefed.social
I am subscribed to several of them, but even there I am at the point now where I never even dare trying to read the comments. It's always either "oh you thought this was a good thing but actually here's an in depth explanation of how it makes thing worse actually" or "well this is too little too late, we're all fucked regardless".
