Capitalism. The worst people in the world have the most power.
Literally the only reason is that capitalism has brainwashed the planet into thinking it's somehow fair <4000 people hoarded more than half of all wealth on earth, and makes us feel uncomfortable about redistributing that wealth, which at this point is required for our economies to function again.
