Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- AI-generated comics aren't allowed.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

Oh hey look, an AI slop channel.
Good lord… isn’t that Jung?? That’s not an actual interview? Those are not his ideas?
I got completely taken.
How can you tell? I need to get better at this.
look at the smoke effect coming from his pipe. it runs forward and in reverse, and most importantly, it's coming out from the mouthpiece.
Yeah… I noticed that and I thought it was an artifact of an ancient clip… until I watched it emerging and returning to the mouthpiece. Good catch.
Now I need to verify how close the text is…
And… apparently he never used the word empath… good grief.
There's a few indicators. First, as others mentioned, there's the smoke. Then there's the way he moves; if you watch all of him at once instead of focusing on details, you'll notice that he tends to start or stop moving all at once, or limbs move without it impacting the rest of him.
Audio is easier; sometimes there's a weird buzzy quality to his voice that is fairly distinctive when you notice it. Most voice cloning AIs have that. The occasionally stilted speech patterns are masked by the foreign accent unfortunately.

Hi SparroHawk,
I hope it’s okay if I ask if you can tell me if this is AI:

I’m having trouble believing anything at this point.
I think that one is real. The audio has that buzz which initially made me suspicious, but the video seems clean. Natural, subtle movements that affect his whole body, no stilted speech patterns, and the way he rambles about Beverly Hills is something an AI typically wouldn't produce. The camera moves slightly, and you can see it jump slightly between cuts as well.
I went to the fuckai community and brought up the idea of a community dedicated to conversations like these. One participant suggested a community called slopornot— I love it. Would you be interested?
As regards the Zappa video, I’m stuck on that his hair doesn’t move… it still could be real… I don’t know… likely is…
I'd be amused enough to join a community like that, but honestly I don't use social media enough to actually be able to support it in any significant way.
Wait… it comes from an account with AI in the name. There’s a clue.
Okay… but what else?
First — I believe there would be a sub here where people can do exactly what I am doing now… and that’s ask people with an eye to fissuring out AI if a vid is AI.
So… is this one: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DPbvQj5EVC6/
Sora watermark at the top is the smoking gun; Sora is an AI video generator.
No buttons on the guy's shirt.
Buzzy voice quality, audio is crisp and lacking background noise despite being outdoors with no visible mic.
Surfaces on face and shirt are weirdly smooth, and lighting is too even.
Thank you. I think I need to spend a lot of time getting good at picking out these details.
