UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

What does this even mean? No-one is waiting 224 years, unless a trans person from 1800 just got their first appointment. Why hide a real problem behind absolute bullshit headline figures?
The wait time is estimated based on how many people are in line compared to how quickly they're receiving service. It's like if no one is seeding your torrent then the ETA is infinity, but as more seeds come online, the ETA reduces.
That said, I don't know what the actual figures are that they used or where they got them from.
Sure. But I wouldn't write an article with a headline saying that my torrent was going to take 1000 years to download, because I'd look like an idiot.
I would if the lack of seeding was an intentional bid to drive me to suicide.
All the more reason to take the topic seriously and not publicise nonsense figures, if you ask me.
