Cognitive capacity aside, have the latter group of people never seen the moon during the day?

This is really it. They notice the bright thing in the dark sky, but not the large thing in the bring sky with the really bright thing.

I just replied to someone in another thread who made a comment that assumed the moon was only up at night. Right now the moon is a crescent following the sun, it'll be visible almost the whole day, and most visible in the sky just after sunset following the sun down. I'm amazed at how little people look at the sky
