There's also a lack of air traffic controllers on US carriers?
From my 15 years experience in the navy I know for a fact the US navy is incompetent AF. I don't know why it suddenly became news they are losing aircraft, it happens more often than you think.
Consider for a moment how this administration is going to effect competentcy rates, the leadership(l8r admiral) and soldiers maliciously complying if not out right sabotage here soon.
I just thought about maintenance for a while and yah I wouldn't want to be a pilot right now. Or a submariner... They should be fine right? 😬
Lmao. Dude, you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Just pump the JP8 and shut it.
I don't? I have done 7 deployments with US ships in our combat battle group. I've done countless exercises with US warships. I've had fighter jets being catapulted a few meters away from me when I visited the USS enterprise, you know, the carrier from Top Gun, former largest warship on earth, now decommissioned. I still have a zippo from that ship.
I was electronic warfare commander so I worked in the CIC, with my nose on top of what's around us, the group with the highest situational awareness in the CIC (air, surface and subsurface). Next to that I was chief maritime Intel on board.
I've seen the US navy fuck up so many times, I could write a book. Turkey has 4 OHP class frigates because the US accidentally shot live rounds during an exercise, destroying the bridge of a Turkish ship killing everyone on it including the captain and the battle group commander. Oopsie. This is just one of maaaany major fuckups.
But sure, I don't know anything, you probably know better. Right?.... Right?
Uhuh. “When I visited . . . “
So tell us why you only lasted 15 years.
EDIT: Just so we’re clear, I’m not pettifogging the fuckups but you’re using them to paint the entire thing as inefficient, which is untrue.
I lasted only for 15 years due to PTSD.
You know what, dude? I’m a dick. I’m sorry I pushed the issue the way I did, even if I disagree on the point you tried to make.
Thank you for your service and cheers. Hope you’re well and stay that way.
Have a good day.
Thanks. You too
They are indeed inefficient. Their command structure is too large, people have little to no responsibilities which causes actions to go slow and wrong as there are too many people involved. For example, changing course requires many people, where as with us it's only 2. We're trained to think ahaid, instead of just performing a single task without questioning.
The US has the highest blue on blue actions in general, percentage wise. Look at Afghanistan and Iraq for example. This isn't because they are so efficient.
Many lack proper training, they don't know how to use their own systems, they don't know how to cooperate or perform procedures properly. The strength of the US military is quantity, not quality. Also their ships are really old, including their sensors. For example, they have a missile to shoot down ballistic missiles (SM3) but they don't have a radar capable of tracking them, so they need Dutch, German, UK, Danish, Italian ships to be able to track ballistic missiles.
Look what I found, just a part of my collection.
That zippo is from the USS Enterprise, that E2 batch too (squadron one two three).
Edit:
This is one of the OHP's turkey got for having their bridge blasted to pieces by the US:
Hr. Ms. De Ruyter went down in WWII in a last ditch effort trying to stop the Japanese fleet. Awesome to have a piece of that history
There have been many ships named like that, including the first ship I served on which is still in service.

The bridge of the previous frigate named De Ruyter is at the navy museum in Den Helder.

Ok. I like your pieces of flair.
