Pulling yourself up by your bootstraps is physically impossible, so having boots or not doesn't change the circumstances.

Thanks for the link. The perfidy of contorting the meaning from an impossible task to something everyone should be able to do is sickening. But I'm not surprised.
It’s a figure of speech. And I was saying that you can’t get ahead in life without a living wage. Kinda surprised you didn’t understand that. Hmmm.
