Eh, no. Wild fires would also occur without climate change, but anybody denying that climate change isn't making wild fires (and a hundred other things) worse is not making a "couple of logical steps", they're denying science.
I think I may not have been clear there. I think climate change is making wildfires worse. I also think that the science is pretty clear on that - even at a like 6th grade level - warmer with less rain so dryer more often and longer == more fire risk.
My reference to not making a "couple of logical steps" is that I've been sadly inured to large masses of people who are either effectively conspiracy theorists and only believe things they can "see" themselves, or are just so effectively uneducated that they don't have a coherent worldview at all. Again, that leads me to think - can a 5 year old understand this link? If so, then I have (had?) some hope it wouldn't be a partisan divide. But if you literally "don't believe my lying eyes and lungs" - then if you're not pushing disinformation and actually are one of the people being mislead - I don't know what would possibly work as proof of anything to you in contradiction to the echo chamber's beliefs you're currently in.
