Which is what makes it even funny, because he left RB for Renault because he knew the team was becoming “Verstappen’s team” and didn’t want to play second fiddle. Just to come back and definitely play second fiddle

Better to be second fiddle in the clearly dominant car. That wasn't the situation when he left.

He'd be 35 then too, which wouldn't afford him many opportunities to be in such a strong team.
