“Net Zero” was often bs anyway with the legitimacy of some of the carbon credits anyway

Carbon credits are BS anyway - FTFY. With self-reporting, difficult to quantify metrics, and industry resistance, it was doomed to failure from the start, and we spent a lot of time gaslighting ourselves that it could work.

That effort would have been much better spent making as many technologies as green as possible, or researching green alternatives.

I agree trying to have the market correct itself with carbon credits was always going to lead to corruption like this. I’m firmly on the socialism or barbarism train and we’re running shorter on time each day.

This is why action today is so much more important than action tomorrow. Never accept these "promises"

Makes on wonder if the larger oil and gas companies and countries are intentionally delaying the transition away. They could buy raw materials to get prices high. They could buy companies to lock up patents and scuttle products.

They have been non-credibly accused of such since the 1960's and have been "making investments" at least since the 2000's.
