A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted, clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts: 1

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
    • If you feel strongly that you want politics back, please volunteer as a mod.
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report the message goes away and you never worry about it.

As we move forward with AI integration its going to be harder and harder to draw that specific line.

Warning: Product manufactured at a facility that also uses AI.

A lot of them do have their own communities. Why are you discriminating against our mechanical brethren!

The only good clanker is a dead clanker

Same for the NSFW communities they still get tagged as NSFW though.

I could see it being useful for those that want to filter the content out, or even to find it if they wanted.

I'm all for more options.

I'm all for AI rights! That's why I want to know when someone is abusing their mechanical slaves for their own amusements (or profit).

These violent delights have violent ends.

Doesn't look like anything to me.

Enforcement is likely nearly impossible unless you.... Wait for it...

Use another LLM to verify it 🤡

And those models have horrible false positive rates too

[–] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 2 points 3 weeks ago

that's part of the joke haha

its just AI slop and I say this as somebody who uses it lol

it is has its use cases, no doubt, but whatever PR bullshit being shoved up our asses, i won't accept that.

i will not support US providing these parasites state aid.

CAPITALISM = private ownership of means of production FREE MARKET = people can chose who they will do business with.

If that's the system these parasites want, why are they sticking their hands into our pockets?

Asking for a friend.
