Summary

Brazilian President Lula da Silva warned that any U.S. tariffs on Brazilian goods would be met with reciprocal measures.

Responding to Trump’s threats of heightened tariffs, Lula emphasized a relationship based on mutual respect. Trump has used tariffs to pressure countries on trade, migration, and security, recently targeting Canada, Mexico, and Colombia.

Experts warn escalating tariffs could push Latin American nations closer to China, now the region’s top trading partner.

Lula stressed Brazil’s sovereignty and past cooperation with both Republican and Democratic U.S. administrations.

From an European, can we just all trade with each other and ignore the US until they get rid of this asshole?

It's where we are going, whether we want it or not...

Taking the US out of every production chain will be painful, though. But the governments around the world seem to be organizing really well and really quickly to make it a reality.
