Summary

A grenade attack at a crowded bar in Grenoble, France, injured 12 people on Wednesday, with six in critical condition.

The attacker, who carried but did not use a Kalashnikov-style rifle, fled the scene.

Authorities do not believe the attack was terrorism-related, but the motive remains unknown.

Local officials, including Mayor Eric Piolle, condemned the “extraordinary violence.”

That's pretty wild that no one was dead from it. Grenades have a pretty large kill radius.

That could still change, a number of the victims might still die from their wounds unfortunately

I meant immediate deaths.

How could this not be terrorism-related when it’s pure terrorism?

It could be a spat between crime organizations, stupid revenge or something.

Edit: added somehow missing word spat

Also could be that someone ordered a pineapple cocktail and the bartender got confused.

Authorities are investigating a possible link to drug trafficking, terrorism implies some sort of political revendication/objective which so far has not been the case

It's Grenoble, 95% chance it's drug related. It happens here lol 🤷

I bet it's because the perpetrator was white.

(This is a joke, it is not known if the perpetrator was white)
