As a lvl 50 necro I just run when I see him. He ignores all my minions and just beelines it straight to me. I could maybe take him now if I was using a golem but I sacrificed my golem for my current build.

It's a little cheesy, and ruins the fun of a Butcher attack; but you if run very tight circles around him, he can't hit you.
Might try that next time so I can say I killed him at least once.
Butcher wants fresh meat, why would he go after your bony af skeltals??? Of course he went straight for you!
TIL this is a thing, it has not happened to me at all.
After I learned he existed he started popping up for me in like every 5th dungeon 😂
Reminds me of old school Diablo in that he just appears randomly in dungeons out of the blue. He's relentless and hard to kill.

That SOB jumped me out of nowhere today while I was already dragging around half a dungeon on my necro chasing a loot goblin. Needless to say, the loot goblin lived, and I did not.
I just get mad! He is a total dick and often kills me then runs away :(
I only ever managed to kill him thanks to getting conduit shrine just before encountering him. Got him to like 20% health and then barely survived the rest.
So damn right I'm still afraid of him.
I think I've seen him once, around level 15-20. He killed me pretty quickly and I haven't seen him since.
I actually would have forgotten he existed if it wasn't for people pointing out he's a thing on social media.

Every single time. I'm 0 for 3 against the butcher
I was a squishy level 54 sorcerer at one point and he came outta nowhere and started hunting me down like Hellboy on crack coccaine. He scared the shit out of me and I died after having whittled down his health bar to the last quarter.
I beat him once with a friend and another time when he spawned conveniently right next to a Conduit totem. If I see him again, I think I can impale him with my ice shard build, but we'll see :)
With my bleeds now, I absolutely cream him at any difficulty. But man, for a while it was terrifying.
Yes, he still scares me. I've killed him a number of times on WT2 and WT3. Then I got to WT4 at level 65 and he's practically unkillable again. I chased a treasure goblin straight into him, so now I've taken to calling the goblins "Lazarus"... as in "The bastard led us into a trap! Now everyone is dead, killed by a demon he called the Butcher."
I met him 3 times during one day. Honestly the first time I didn't even notice as I was chasing a treasuregoblin, when I got dropped to low health that's when I noticed the healthbar.
Ahh. Fresh meat!
I have only beat him once of the four times I've seen him since release. Was on a sorc, and was doing laps around a pillar while my hydra wore him down. Felt like a 15 minute fight. And I feel like there were 11 potions used. All in the name of trying to stay away from him.
