It's been done hundreds of times from different groups all over the fucking world. There is no correlation. This is a waste of time and money when these people have more important fucking things to be handling.

[–] ArtemisimetrA@lemmy.duck.cafe 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

But that money is being wasted to make sure they find the correlation this time for suresies, guys, we're definitely going to prove the whole rest of the world wrong this time wif our big smawt amewican bwainses

And all the other health organizations will still have the same data and disprove it immediately. You can just outright say whatever the fuck you want publicly and it's the same effect. This won't stop vaccines. It won't stop people from getting vaccines. It won't stop doctors from recommending vaccines. It'll only make people look fucking stupid and useless.

I would suggest remembering who's in charge of HHS now.

By the time this "study" is done, they'll blame the COVID vaccine for every case of autism in the US since 1976.

Even if they don't, which is highly unlikely, they still want to be able to say "Obviously vaccines are dangerous. Even the US government is looking into the links between vaccines and autism." to give the anti-vax movement some "credibility" and a kernel of "truth".

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'm aware, but they cant fudge the numbers or fake studies because THE DATA IS PUBLIC. Coming out with a bullshit finding is still easily disproven because everyone else can still see your data. Then you just look like a bigger fucking idiot.

It's like trying to fake a slip and fall in a casino when you have hundreds of cameras watching you from all angles.

[–] Nightwingdragon@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

This applies to normal, rational, intelligent human beings.

We're talking about the Trump administration and their followers. The whole thing is for an audience of one, and their base just wants to be told what they want to hear. The rest of the studies and previous data will be written off as woke DEI studies funded by George Soros.

It’s like trying to fake a slip and fall in a casino when you have hundreds of cameras watching you from all angles.

This is the same man that once used a Sharpie to alter a weather map live on TV, remember? Not only does he not care how stupid he looks, he will double down on it. And remember that he was re-elected as President and now the NOAA is getting defunded. To go back to your analogy, he would just respond by buying the casino, removing the security cameras, and firing any staff members that say he didn't slip and fall.

You're missing the part about public data. The CDC is legally required to post any data from studies conducted. This is because guidance of these studies is to be considered by medical institutions and professionals. It's not a board of opinion that just randomly issues guidance with no scientific data to back it up.

Using your example of the sharpie incident: he was mercilessly made fun of and laughed at, and numerous organizations came out and told him what a fucking idiot he was, and nobody listened to a thing he had to say regarding the context of the storm.

Take that into account with this study:

  1. They come out with a bullshit study and slap the CDC's letterhead on it
  2. Medical organizations look at the data
  3. Everyone notices the fake information and false numbers because...people aren't fucking idiots.
  4. Nobody listens

All these doom and gloom points of view are just not in the realm of reason and are completely ignorant of the fact that the rest of the world still exists and reviews this data as well.

Everyone knows these people are idiots and mentally ill. The CDC is a scientific institution, yes, but does everyone need to abide by everything they say? Fuck no.

If they issue a falsified study, it will be immediately disproven. Publicly. They aren't a law-making agency by any means, so can they force medical institutions to abide by their studies? Fuck no.

They'll be laughed at by the rest of the world, and the dumbest amongst us will die of preventable diseases while trying to sidestep autism and find out it still exists anyway, while the more intelligent of us get vaccines and live on.

If that's these assholes want to take that road, then I welcome it. Fuck em.

You're missing the part about public data. The CDC is legally required to post any data from studies conducted.

I mean, in general I agree, but the people directing this aren't exactly the rule-following type. Nor do they care about facts, truth, or integrity. Anything published will fit the narrative. Anything that doesn't fit the narrative will be blackholed.

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

To what effect though? That's my point. You're just yelling into the void of mental illness by publishing fake data. Nobody is going to listen when other, better, competing data is not falsified.

The CDC doesn't control anything. They just publish data. They can't ban vaccines, nor can Congress, and there is no legislation that can prevent people from getting them, so whatever the darkest possible outcome is won't do anything.

[–] Nightwingdragon@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Have you been paying attention lately? Trump has absolutely zero issues making up complete, 100% Grade-A bullshit on the fly and getting the rubes to believe it. And there are enough of those rubes to apparently force Republican congresspeople to fall in line under threats of violence. Take a look at the long list of politicians, up to and including his own Vice President, that have done a complete about-face with regards to Trump. He has shown that he absolutely can get people to listen whether it's because they're true believers, or if it's out of threats of violence or leverage of his political power. Either way, they're listening.

The CDC doesn’t control anything. They just publish data.

And they can be told by the Trump administration to publish what the Trump administration tells them to. Take a look at all of the other agencies who have had data changed or removed from government websites on Trump's orders. The CDC would be very, very far from the first.

They can’t ban vaccines, nor can Congress, and there is no legislation that can prevent people from getting them,

Um.....who says they can't? They absolutely could pass an anti-vax bill tomorrow and have it signed by Trump and suddenly vaccines would be banned nationwide.

so whatever the darkest possible outcome is won’t do anything.

No, the darkest possible outcome is the banning of vaccines and the widespread re-emergence of diseases ranging from measles to polio. And as long as this man is in office doing irreparable damage to the scientific progress we've made over the past century or so, there is a very real chance of this happening.

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world -1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Reread everything you just said, realize what the CDC is, then read my comments again.

[–] Nightwingdragon@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Reread everything I just said, REALIZE WHO'S FUCKING IN CHARGE NOW, then read my comments again.

There is nothing -- NOTHING -- stopping Trump from just firing everybody who is heading the CDC right now and replacing them with his own loyalists who will publish exactly what Trump tells them to publish. It's what he's been doing to literally every other federal agency. Or have you not noticed the amount of information that has already disappeared from government websites on Trump's orders while Congress cheers him on?

This is the Trump administration now. Prior rules and norms no longer apply.

[–] Retropunk64@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 days ago

Guarantee you these assholes find "evidence" proving those other studies wrong.

[–] Marafon@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 days ago

I could save them some time and money. We already know how vaccines cause autism.

Hey, DOGE, I found your waste.

[–] TommySoda@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Yeah, but this time they already have the results they want they just need someone to tell them they are right.

[–] Xanza@lemm.ee 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

WE'RE SAVING HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS BY CUTTING SOCIAL PROGRAMS TO THROW THE WORKING POOR TO THE WOLVES TO REDO STUDIES THAT HAVE BEEN DONE HUNDREDS OF TIMES BECAUSE THEY DON'T COME TO THE CONCLUSIONS WE WANT!
