Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is reportedly looking for a way out of the Trump administration following the Republican president’s disastrous tariff rollout damaged his “credibility,” alleged MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle on Friday.

“Some [sources] have said to me, he’s looking for an exit door to try to get himself to the Fed, because in the last few days he’s really hurting his own credibility and history in the markets,” said Ruhle on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

You're a part of the admin dude. You made that choice. You damaged your own credibility.

Man in Clown Makeup Complains That People Think He's a Clown

Yeah, most people with integrity will resign before the bad thing happens. Anyway, I'm sure he'll be able to join all the other ex Trump officials in the #resist cable/podcast ecosystem.

Bessent: I just wanted a fascist government takeover, not a bad economy.

Joins the Trump admin, knowing what they plan to do, then worries about his credibility when they do the disastrous thing they always said they would do. I don't have a lot of sympathy.

Before his government service, he was a partner at Soros Fund Management

LOL, you'd think the MAGA types would already be calling for his head based on that.

And:

Bessent has praised Trump's proposal to implement broad tariffs

Aren't you getting exactly what you wanted, Bessent?

[–] jownz@lemmy.world 22 points 10 hours ago

Scott "I don't know" Bessent. What a useless fool.

If you joined the administration and didn't realize you were just there to be used like everyone else, I'm sorry but you can fuck right off. You're just mad that your selfish wants aren't as important to the ones above you.

The only reason they are following blindly is because they want their own little slice of America when the dust settles. They are all selfish pieces of human garbage that want nothing more than to have more power than they deserve and will do whatever daddy tells them to do in order to get it. Problem is the person in charge of the highest office in the country is the most selfish of them all and doesn't give a fuck about anyone else in the entire world. Even if he's a Russian asset or doing his own bidding, it's only because he wants the exact same thing as the rest of them. And at the end of the day, whether it's the president, Putin, or the heritage foundation, the people making the decisions will get what they want and everyone else will get absolutely nothing.

He could resign.

Not being able to find a door explains a lot of what I have heard from him.
