It's why I don't use discord. I popped back in due to it being used for a project I'm interested in but I'll be gone again once it's over. Web version > desktop app any day.

There's something called Webcord, which is essentially a wrapper around the web version, with the added bonus of blocking various trackers and whatnot, so a bit more private.
I'm looking forward to when people abandon Discord. I'm so sick of the platform.
When you get a message, but it's from the Fediverse Chick.
I aggressively block those notifications, or remove the app. If they can't respect my boundaries, they aren't worth my time.
That's me with Wattpad right now. I barely ever am on there anymore, so I only ever get their official ad messages that I can't block when I go into the app.
Cant you just turn off notifications in the settings?
Funnily enough, I opened the app earlier and there was a message reminding me that I can change in-app notifications. Didn't realize that was a thing because I haven't gone into settings for a while. But I definitely wasn't giving them push notification access, though.
