Several of the country’s largest LGBTQ Pride celebrations have lost major sponsors, to the tune of $200,000 to $350,000 per event.

Several of the nation’s largest LGBTQ Pride celebrations are down hundreds of thousands of dollars in corporate sponsorships this year, with some event organizers saying promised funds have been withdrawn or reduced and others saying they’ve been ghosted by longtime corporate partners.

Pride organizers say some companies fear being targeted by the Trump administration over participation in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, while others are preserving cash in a tumultuous economy.

Rainbow capitalism was only ever in it for the money.

At least the pricks are showing themselves out.

As a queer person myself, I always understood that our liberation will never come in the form of rainbow capitalism. I am not surprised at all by any of this, and to be fair, I am glad these fake allies are showing their true colours.

I’m fine with this. The LBGT community doesn’t need “fair weather friends”. This lets us know which companies to actually spend our money with.

Good riddance.

Rainbow washing has been getting more and more egregious, to the point where cops were in the fucking parades on floats.

Be gay do crime is not just some cute tagline on a shirt.

Let's kill two birds with one stone.

Can we start a GoFundMe for the purchase of Tik Tok to be ran by these LGBTQ+ groups?

Then they wouldn't need donors...

Hear me out on this:

  1. It'd be fabulous, and they'd do a great job.
  2. The dance videos (and their funding) would improve dramatically.
  3. Fuck billionaires.

Hope they're banned forever.

That and sponsors never actually supported the cause in the first place and just saw dollar signs in it

❌Gay Pride

✅Gay Shame

"Gay Shame was created as a protest of (and named in opposition to) the over-commercialization of the gay pride events. Members attack "queer assimilation" into what they perceive as oppressive societal structures."

You may have a local or regional org to help, and there are multiple national groups that cover a variety of bases. Legal funds, advocacy, news. Pick your passion.
