Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

HUCKABEE-Sanders.

She's Mike Huckabee's daughter. She has a hyphenated last name that she doesn't use the hyphen on because she knows that triggers the Y'all-Qaeda.

I thought the scariest words in the English language, according to the qnuts, is "I'm from the government and I'm here to help"? Doesn't Arkansas need to lift itself up by its bootstraps? God helps those that help themselves? It's it time to "go Galt" and all that stuff? Or the "thoughts and prayers" that the qnuts offer up when yet another mass shooting occurs?

Is Sanders a dirty hippie feminist commie socialist fascist trying to subvert these United States of America, and just as diaper donnie is here to make it great again?

Sanders, based on first hand experience, endorsed the fascist policies of Donald Trump, on November 6th, 2023.

HUCKABEE-Sanders.

Don't scare me like that.

Guess what you voted for, Arkansas?

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Well, not me specifically. But like 2/3 of this damn state.

[–] GoodOleAmerika@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Move to NWA. People are nicer.

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

I live in NWA. I know a lot of nice people. I know a lot of nice MAGA people and a lot of nice people who support actual American values too.

But 2/3 of this state still supports Trump, Tom Cotton, and SHS. Even Washington County went for Trump. Still, 1/3 of the people here are level headed and I remind myself of that every once in awhile.

[–] tehn00bi@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Maybe? Benton county is full of maga republicans. Washington county is a bit more mixed, but still leans republican. Outside of that you are in a sea of poor hillbillies who will do whatever their pastor tells them too. I love NWA, but it isn’t what will save Arkansas.

[–] GoodOleAmerika@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Nothing will save Arkansas. I lived there for 13 years and left for Colorado. Huckabee fked is up even bad along with Tom Cotton. Only thing I miss is the bbq.

Fuck every single thing in Arkansas except the weather and scenery

[–] scintilla@preferred.social 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I didn't think a single person alive liked 100% humidity 90° days.

[–] MumboJumbo@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That actually sounds amazing. Especially when you leave an air conditioned building and go sit in your car. Don't turn it on, just sit in it for a minute and let the warmth envelope you. I love Midwestern summer.

[–] Captainvaqina@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 days ago

I am also a reptile. I generally like to lay directly on the face of a blazing hot radiating rock during a cloudless summer noon.

[–] RattlerSix@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

And Arkansas stones, which are good at knife sharpening
