This is my favorite post of the morning. Laughed well and shared with a friend. Thanks, Onion.

[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 29 points 2 months ago (3 children)

If hot tub handjobs really are a thing I've wasted my life

[–] MunkysUnkEnz0@lemmy.world 23 points 2 months ago (2 children)

They are but are very dry. Water is not good lube. Better one person sits on the edge of the hot tube with there legs in the water.

Lazy rivers work also..

[–] SolarMonkey@slrpnk.net 5 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Skill issue.

Use silicone-based lube for water play.

[–] GoodLuckToFriends@lemmy.today 6 points 2 months ago

Instructions unclear, silicone now in bladder.

Also, it's kinda ass to put that in someone else's filter system, and you don't want to be dealing with it in yours.

[–] SkyeStarfall@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yeah but like, the water is just going to clean everything off. Especially turbulent water like a hot tub

[–] SolarMonkey@slrpnk.net 6 points 2 months ago

It doesn’t. It takes soap to get silicone lube off.

[–] dickalan@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Doing anal with a girl in a hot tub isn’t much better

[–] MeThisGuy@feddit.nl 3 points 2 months ago
[–] veroxii@aussie.zone 14 points 2 months ago (1 children)

They are, so next time take off your floaties.

[–] ignotum@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

Nice try, I'd drown immediately if I did that

[–] Pnut@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago (4 children)

You want to go the pool route. In the hot tub there's little differentiation temperature wise.

Dammit! These are schwimmflügel, there IS a proper English term. Use It!

Edit: Thanks @dan@upvote.au I realized a left out a diacritic mark.

[–] dan@upvote.au 38 points 2 months ago (2 children)

schwimmflugel

English

🤔

[–] DmMacniel@feddit.org 9 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Kindergarten, Rucksack, Schadensfreude :)

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It's actually Schadenfreude

[–] yetAnotherUser@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Schadensfreude isn't invalid, it's just a rare variant. The "s" allows for a smoother connection between the two words. If this spelling is confusing, just pretend the "s" is silent.

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I mean, it's at least not valid in German. There might be people using that word in English, I don't know.

[–] yetAnotherUser@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Ze fix? Ich stehe korrigiert, danke!

Aber zu meiner Verteidigung: laut Ngram-Viewer ist Schadenfreude (~0.000130%) 144-mal so häufig wie Schadensfreude (~0.00000090%).

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 2 points 2 months ago

Do you mean silent as in ilent?

Floaties image search: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=floaties&t=ffab&ia=images&iax=images

Nary a schwimmflügel in those results at all. I rest my case.

[–] Nelots@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Try again with the word 'arm' in front.

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I much prefer to manipulate searches, and cherry pick results to fit my warped sense of humor, thanks.

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 2 points 2 months ago

I mean this is a shitpost community after all. Best to ya!

[–] sprite0@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

my dad always called them floogles and i never knew why!

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 2 points 2 months ago

Parents can be mysterious, that way.

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 20 points 2 months ago (6 children)

I read the caption before I took a good look at the picture and I assumed that "floaties" meant something very different.

[–] BenLeMan@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Floaters greatly lessen my enjoyment of hot tubs as well.

Yeah spots everywhere and you don't know if its an bubble on your eye or just the floaties

[–] TIN@feddit.uk 2 points 2 months ago

Oh, I've got this far down the comments before realising we were maybe talking about arm based flotation devices and not turds.

Whatever floats your uhh… arms?

[–] saltnotsugar@lemm.ee 5 points 2 months ago

Safety first though!

[–] nimble@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 months ago

Sounds like a challenge tbh

[–] son_named_bort@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

That's when you go for the foot job instead.

[–] GooberEar@lemmy.wtf 3 points 2 months ago

Honey, you have to put some elbow grease into it.

[–] Shardikprime@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If anything it would make them faster as the floaties would increase the speed the hand goes up

"from German". I'm not being elitist, I am not German. But lent words have origins.

[–] C1pher@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

It prevents: "This isnt a beach, this is a bathtub" kinds of situations.
